In the year of 2013, rising pop star Austin Mahone has done more than come into his own -- while he has a good start on carving his own place among this year's "hotties" in the pop music arena, in a single year he has surpassed anything that could have been expected, being named "Artist to Watch" this year by MTV, opening concerts for the likes of Taylor Swift - as well as making quite a number of appearances on teen heartthrob magazines such as "J-14" and "M."

Austin Mahone Internet Popularity - Quite well known for his strong presence in internet social media channels such as Twitter, he has a reputation for not just making appearances online, but making a point to truly connect with his fans (known as "Mahomies").  This seems to have set him apart from other pop stars as being more personable, more friendly - as well as talented.  In 2013, Austin's popularity has literally skyrocketed - an example of this is the number times people "Google" his name (see graph top-left).

"Say You're Just A Friend" is the lead single from pop singer Austin Mahone's upcoming album that happens to feature rapper Flo Rida and incorporates the chorus from hit song "Just A Friend" by rapper Biz Markie in 1989. Austin and producers created a more energetic sound that makes you want to get up and dance. The true meaning of the song explores an area all girls and boys experience at one time or another. Wanting one of their friends to be more than just a friend, but not wanting to ruin their friendship in the long run.

With it's upbeat exciting tempo, Austin Mahone's most recent song "What About Love" topped charts. It is about being in a relationship where something happened along the way, causing everything the couple had done together that made them happy, not matter anymore to he or she and leaving the other questioning if it really meant anything to begin with but still willing to wait for them to remember all the great times they had together. The song has a '90s boy band feel, but more modern day with electronic dance music, bringing the style of the Backstreet Boys and 'NSYNC together a bit.

"Say Somethin"

This summer song has an exciting vibe, literally having you "feeling the vibe" of getting up and dancing around like no one is watching. Lyrically, the song is about the fact that you were born with a mouth so you should use it. If you like someone don't be so shy, and say somethin! It sounds like a huge party, since it's a happy song. Bae Major also known as Major Ali and Mike Posner worked with him on the song in studio in Miami. The beat was already there, they just made it their own feel and I love what the results were in the end. "Say Somethin" was his first true studio single he put out giving him an obvious great start to his career.
